I will like to welcome you to the University of Delta, Agbor, Faculty of Computing. The faculty is one of the eight faculties that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has authorized for the new university September 2021 opening. The Faculty of Computing which is domiciled in the main campus, was established in September 2021 with three (3) departments in keeping with the university guiding principles.
The three (3) degree programmes: B.Sc., in Computer Science (CSC), B.Sc., in Cyber Security (CYB), and B.Sc., in Software Engineering (SEN)—all received unanimous permission from the NUC to launch their core initiatives in information technology teaching, research, and innovation - IT for a Social Good. A fourth programmme, the B.Sc., Information and Communication Technology.
(ICT), which was initially left out, received approval to start and has begun accepting students for the 2022 - 2023 academic year. In March 2022, formal teaching and learning in the faculty began. Nowadays, the main structure is home to the departments of computer science, cyber security, information and communication technology, and software engineering. Facilities at the faculty include: lecture halls, Conveniences for male and female, Faculty Library, well equipped laboratories for practical works at the main complex, the ICT complex and the CEIT Complex; and, Campus-wide Wireless Internet Connectivity.
